KARACHI, July 10: Three-year-old chestnut colt The Ghazan Prince, who has overcome a bad patch, should be in line for another bold showing to lift the KRC Cup 2007 when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at Karachi Racecourse on Wednesday.

He showed his potential by claiming a long overdue victory on July 2 under rider M. Manzoor after nine dismal runs.

Drawn in a pack of 10 runners barring last minute withdrawls, he starts as days’ best and looks certain to make it two on the trot. His likely challengers are mare Smiling Face and bay Mr. Paidagir. However, if tried, colt Royal King with M. Nasir aboard can upset the applecart.

With a win under her belt, the six-year-old bay mare Silent Love seems poised to lift the Shindoor Cup to make it two-in-a-row.

She posted two-and-a-half lengths victory over Tun Baba Tun earlier this month. She should be chased by Jet Zone and Desperado for the places. If tried by connection, mare Priceless can topple the form horses.

A card of seven races including two cups has been drawn for the day. The first race begins at 2.30pm.

After having a good run last weekend, three-year-old bay filly Sugar Sweet is fancied to pick up spoils in the top division of class VII, the last race of the programme.

Those who come into reckoning for places are colt Khyber and chestnut Thanks Naeem.

Seven-year-old bay Tun Baba Tun is tipped to prevail over the opponents in the fifth race. He should be followed by filly Gul Bano and Raka Poshi.

Seven-year-old chestnut mare Queen Of Awan is our fancy in the opener which has 12 horses in fray. However, Silver City which has come down a lot in handicap can win anytime.

Sing Sing, a three-year-old colt, is likely to repeat his winning feat in the second race. Eager Saint has the ability to topple favourite. Similarly, Rokara who was withdrawn in the July 2 meeting is also tipped to oblige punters in the third race.
