MULTAN, July 10: The first anniversary of the Fokker crash in which at least 45 people were killed was observed here on Tuesday.

A meeting was held in the Committee Room of the Bahauddin Zakariya University with vice-chancellor Dr Prof Muhammad Zafarullah in the chair. Deans, heads, senior trenchers of different departments and representatives of various organisations attended the meeting.

Rich tributes were paid to former vice-chancellor Prof Dr Naseer Khan, Prof Dr Abdul Rauf Sheikh of Urdu Department of the BZU, Justice Nazir Ahmad Siddiqui and Prof Dr Iftikhar Raja.

The second meeting was held in the room of the Lahore High Court Bar Association to pay tributes to Justice Siddiqui, Justice Nawaz Bhatti and Advocate Arshad Latif.

Justice Khalid Alvi, banking court judge A D Khalid, High Court Bar president Habibullah Shakir and secretary Rana Naveed attended the meeting.

The High Court Bar Association held Quran Khwani for the departed souls.
