SIALKOT, July 9: The bomb disposal squad defused an anti-tank mine in bordering village Zafarwal on Monday. According to official sources, some farmers found the mine while ploughing the fields for sowing paddy.
They said the mine was rusting and local-made and weighing 12 kilograms.
They said the mine was planted by the Pakistan security forces during the heightened tension between Pakistan and India in 2001-02. Later, the agencies launched an operation and cleared the area.
