PESHAWAR, July 9: The general secretary of the NWFP chapter of the PPP-Sherpao, MPA Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, has accused the MMA government of failing to protect the rights of the province.

Addressing party workers here on Monday, he said the MMA government had committed a blunder by accepting the arbitration tribunal’s decision on the net hydel profit without any constitutional guarantee.

He said the MMA had deviated from the NWFP’s historic stance on the issue causing irreparable loss to its exchequer.

He said that the provincial government embarked on a solo flight by discarding the contention of opposition.

He said the province’s claim under the A.G.N. Qazi formula of Rs300 billion was curtailed into Rs110 billion only which too was in doldrums.

He said that no guarantee was procured in black and white from the tribunal and now the provincial government having no documentary proof could not substantiate its claim in the court where the matter was sub judice.
