KARACHI: Posts of district attorneys upgraded

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 9: The provincial government has upgraded the posts of district attorney and deputy district attorney with effect from July 1. The district attorneys, who were earlier placed in grade 18, have all been promoted to grade 19 irrespective of length of service. Their salaries in grade 19 would, however, be fixed in accordance with their seniority in grade 18.

Likewise, deputy district attorneys, who were previously given basic pay scale 17, would now serve in grade 18. Their salaries, too, would be re-fixed in the new grade in keeping with the duration of their service in grade 17.

The upgradation notification was issued by the provincial law secretary, Sayed Ghulam Nabi Shah, with the approval of Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on June 23.

Hundreds of lawyers working in the two posts across the province would benefit from the decision.
