KARACHI: Chinese nationals’security

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 9: Security was tightened around Chinese establishments on Monday following Sunday’s killing of three Chinese nationals near Peshawar. Police told Dawn that security personnel had been deployed around offices and commercial concerns run by Chinese nationals.

“Yes, we have beefed up security at Chinese establishments, including the consulate,” Clifton Town Police Officer SP Azad Khan told Dawn.

He added that police escorts for Chinese diplomats and other members of the consulate had been further strengthened.

The Chinese government has requested Pakistani authorities to investigate the Peshawar incident, arrest culprits and properly handle the follow-up issues, besides taking effective measures to protect all Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
