KARACHI, July 8: The Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Amir Abidi, has described the All-Parties Conference (APC) being held in London as an utter failure.
“The failure of the opposition to reach a consensus on tendering collective resignations and formation of grand alliance is a clear proof of their failure,” said the special assistant in a statement issued on Sunday.
Instead of discussing the problems being faced by the country, he said, the APC focused on hatching conspiracies aimed at de-stabilizing the present government.
The special assistant said the opposition parties spent millions of rupees on a futile exercise of holding an All-Parties Conference, neglecting the sufferings of flood victims of Sindh and Balochistan.
He maintained that the opposition parties had no interest in the problems of the people as they were only aiming at getting the rule.
He made it clear that the Jamia Hafsa stand-off had nothing to do with the All-Parties Conference.
The government wanted to minimise the loss of life and soon it would be able to resolve the issue, he added.—APP
