KARACHI: Man stabbed to death

KARACHI, July 8: A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends in Bhittaiabad here on Saturday night.

A duty officer at the Sachal police station said that the man, Sunny, was stabbed by his friends, Imran, Faizan and Johnson, after they quarreled over some patty matter. The suspects fled from the scene.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

In another incident, a man died and his nephew sustained injuries in an attack by their relatives in New Mianwali Colony on Sunday.

Police said Noor Elahi, 55, and his nephew, Munsif, 22, were attacked with blunt weapons near their house in the limits of Pirabad police station. Police were looking for the attackers, identified as Mehboob, Akhtar and Afsana.

Initial investigations suggested that the two parties were at odds over a property.

Gang busted

A gang of robbers was busted with the arrest of 10 suspects involved in 55 cases of robberies.

Police said that a raid was conducted on a vacant house following a tip off that some criminals were present in the house located in Gulshan-i-Maymar area.

Police claimed to have recovered eight pistols, a repeater gun and ammunition from their possession.

Youth killed

Robbers shot dead a young man who offered resistance when they demanded his cellphone.

Police said that Mohammad Javed, 18, was intercepted by the robbers in a locality of Landhi on Sunday and asked to hand over his cellphone.

However, Javed resisted their demand on which the suspects shot him and fled.
