LAHORE, July 7: Punjab Communication and Works Minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin has issued a show-cause notice to MPA from Chakwal Col Sultan Surkhroo (retired) for violation of party discipline.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, Mr Zaheer, who is the ruling PML general secretary also, took notice of the MPA’s “taking political benefits from the party and the Punjab government.”

The show-cause notice reads:

“It has been noticed that you have been taking political benefits from the party and the Punjab government but you never participated in the party meetings despite prior intimation and have remained absent. It has also been noticed that you are taking part in such political activities in your constituency which are against the cause of Pakistan Muslim League, Punjab.

Party workers are very much disturbed over this attitude and you have been engaged in serious violation of party discipline.

Therefore, you should immediately explain your position, otherwise disciplinary action would be taken against you under party constitution.”

APC: Punjab Baitul Maal Minister Chaudhry Ejaz Shafi has said that All-Parties Conference, to be held in London, has become All Parties Baseless Conference (ABC) due to lack of unity among its participants owing to their personal interests.

He said Nawaz Sharif wanted to come into power with the support of political parties. But he should know that such decisions were not made abroad. The people would make such decisions through their votes during general elections.
