SHEIKHUPURA, July 6: A prisoner, involved in heinous crimes, escaped from the district jail here on Friday. B-Division police said that accused Irfan of Mansoorabad locality managed to escape after scaling the boundary wall of the prison.

They said the involvement of the jail staff could not be ruled out in the escape of the accused, who was wanted by Saddar and Factory Area police in murder and dacoity cases.

Police are looking into the matter.
