RAHIM YAR KHAN, July 5: A man stabbed his four children minor and a nephew in the small town of Pakka Laran in the Liaquatpur tehsil, on Thursday. The children are: Mehran (5), Saba (4), Rooba (3), Mehak (1) and Haroon (4).
“I have killed my children because of extreme poverty,” Mohammad Bilal is reported to have told police.
Sources, however, said that it was a case of honour killing, adding that the accused often quarrelled with his wife and suspected her of having an extra-marital affair.
The accused, who works as a labourer, surrendered after committing the crime.
Police have sent the bodies to a rural health centre for post-mortem.
