DADU, July 5: Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Thursday reiterated the government’s resolve that no “talks will be held with Lal Masjid administration neither will operation be stopped but innocent girls’ lives will be protected”.

Mr Hussain said after distributing relief goods among rain-affected people at a relief camp near Wahi Pandhi that Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi had talked to him on cell phone and invited him to talks but he declined.

He had received cell phone messages from girls’ students of Lal Masjid appealing for protection and had asked the government to protect their lives, he said.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi said that water level in Main Nara Valley (MNV) drain was rising after it received water from the RBOD.

Our Larkana correspondent adds: Earlier, speaking to journalists at Moenjodaro airport before heading for rain-affected areas Mr Hussain said that he could not say anything about a possible PPP deal with the government because he was not involved in the talks but Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed’s answer to the question about deal was “wait till August 14”.

Mr Syed praised the chief minister for taking a bold step on Salman Rushdie and claimed that the PML (Q) would emerge victorious in the general polls.
