Lawyers’ children join protest

By A Reporter

RAWALPINDI, July 5: Lawyers here on Thursday brought their children to the court premises to involve them in their ongoing protest against the presidential reference and in solidarity with the chief justice of Pakistan.

Over 350 children aged between one to 12 years chanted slogans in support of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and against the government. They also recited poems in favour of the ongoing movement of the lawyers for independence of judiciary.

Speaking on the occasion, G.M. Shah Advocate, who coordinated the children’s demonstration, said the cause of the struggle for supremacy of the rule of law was not confined to the present time but it would have its impact on the future generations as well.

The bar association distributed sweets and juices among the children who were also given prizes for raising slogans and reciting poems.
