KARACHI, July 4: Keeping in mind a busy international schedule next season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the national selectors to finalise a list of fringe players who will be offered retainer contracts.

In this connection the selection committee, headed by Salahuddin Ahmed is expected to pick about 25 cricketers in the next couple of days.

The selectors will also finalise a list of 30 probables for the inaugural World Twenty20 Championship in South Africa. The list has to be submitted to the International Cricket Council before next week’s cut-off date.

Meanwhile, Australia ‘A’ are not scheduled to play any match in Karachi during their tour of Pakistan in September. According to the itinerary, the visitors are expected to face their Pakistani counterparts in three one-day matches and two four-day fixtures.

Lahore will host two one-dayers (Sept 4 and 9) as well as the second four-day game (Sept 19-22). Sheikhupura will stage the second one-dayer on Sept 7 while Rawalpindi is the venue of the first four-day fixture from Sept 12 to 15.
