Radio Mithi immensely popular: study

MITHI, July 4: A research study conducted by Radio Pakistan Audience Research Cell has found that Radio Pakistan Mithi is immensely popular among the local population.

The study shows that the ratio of listeners of Radio Pakistan Mithi is double to any other radio station in the country.

Radio Pakistan Audience Research Cell Islamabad in its report strongly recommended that a 10kv transmitter be installed to expand the range of Radio Pakistan Mithi.

The study said that Radio Pakistan Mithi which was established in September, 2005, with 12 hour transmission, has provided an opportunity to the vocalists, artists, musicians and composers of Thar to express their talents to wider audience.

The radio broadcast includes informative and recreational programmes for children, students, youth, and for women folk.

According to the report Radio Mithi's flagship programme “Assalam-o-Alaikum Mithi” and “Dhati Mahanja Dhole” are immensely popular.

The report said that about 10 per cent of Tharis listen to the Radio Hyderabad's programmes whereas a number of them also regularly listen to the BBC radio.
