Imran wants match with Sher Afgan

By Our Correspondent

MIANWALI, July 4: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has announced that he will contest elections in NA-72 against Dr Sher Afgan Khan from this district.

He was addressing a public meeting at Mooch, 35km from here, on Wednesday evening.

Mr Khan said he would also contest election in his constituency NA-71. He termed Dr Sher Afgan a turncoat who bluffed the people of Mianwali by joining hands with an army dictator just for his personal interests.

He criticised the government for mishandling the Lal Masjid incident in which about 10 people were killed.

He said despite life threats from MQM, he would contest his case against MQM chief Altaf Husain, who is responsible for the May 12 massacre at Karachi.

Earlier, Imran Khan was received at the boundary of the district on Talagang Road and brought to Mooch in a procession, comprising hundreds of vehicles. Local leaders of MMA and PML-N were also present.
