QUETTA, July 4: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has appealed to the president and the prime minister to convene an international donors’ conference to raise funds for rehabilitation of the people affected by cyclone and floods in the province.

He claimed at a press conference here on Wednesday that the province had suffered a loss of Rs80 billion to Rs90 billion, 2.5 million people had been affected and 150,000 to 200,000 rendered homeless.

He said cotton and rice crops over about 50,000 acres had been washed away in Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad and Jaffarabad, while tens of thousands of houses had been destroyed.
