PPP starts registering voters

Published July 3, 2007

ISLAMABAD, July 2: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has set up an emergency control room in Islamabad for registration of eligible voters to include their names on the voters’ list.

According to a press release, the control room has been set up at G-8 Markaz and the party has appealed to all those whose names were not on the draft voters’ list to contact the control room for registration of their names.

Incharge of the control room Iftikhar Shahzada has directed the party workers to mobilise the public for inclusion of their names in the voters’ list so that Benazir Bhutto could be elected the prime minister for the third time. He said the rulers were afraid of Ms Bhutto’s return. He, however, said the people of Pakistan would show the door to the rulers by voting for the PPP in large number.
