NAWABSHAH: Expulsion of JSQM leader sought

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, July 2: Family members of a small hotel owner who was allegedly fire upon by an office-bearer of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and his colleagues when he demanded bill for dinner appealed to JSQM chairman on Monday to expel them from the party.

Khair Mohammad Lund and Mir Mohammad Lund demanded at a news conference at the local press club that the PPO of Sindh and DPO of Nawabshah should order arrest of the people who fired on their brother, Niaz Lund.

They said that president of JSQM Daur, Syed Shafiq Shah and his henchmen had dinner at their brother’s hotel in Daur on the eve of a strike call given by JSQM a few days ago.

When their brother asked for the bill Mr Shah and his henchmen flew out of the handle and opened straight fires on him. As if not content with what they had already done they again fired on the ambulance which was moving the seriously injured Niaz to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital but they miraculously escaped unhurt, they said.

They said that they lodged an FIR at Daur police station immediately after the incident but police showed no interest in arresting the accused including the main accused. They were even issuing threats to the police, they said.

They said that they also met with DPO of Nawabshah who assured them of the culprits’ arrest but they saw no change in police’s performance. The accused were threatening them of dire consequences and they feared their lives were in danger, they said.

They said that the main accused was a criminal and appealed to the JSQM Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi to expel him and his henchmen from the party.

They demanded that PPO of Sindh and DPO should provide them security and justice and warned that if the accused were not arrested Niaz’s mother would commit suicide outside the press club in protest.
