KARACHI, July 2: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships carrying containers, and edible oil were accommodated on berths at QICT and MPL terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile two more container ships arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy remained at 50 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, edible oil, coal and coke, respectively, during the period under review.

The port handled cargo volume of 63,084 tons comprising 47,648 tons of imports and 15,436 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,125 boxes. Three containers ships and one chemical carrier sailed out to the sea during the report period.
