LAHORE, July 1: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) anti-cyber crime unit claimed on Sunday to have arrested two people for a credit card fraud.

Unit’s assistant director Ziaul Islam said the unit had received a complaint regarding Malik Masroor’s involvement in the fake credit card business. He said the FIA raided Masroor’s hideout in Bahawalpur on Sunday and arrested him with two fake credit cards through which he had allegedly drawn Rs1 million from various banks.

Zia said the FIA also arrested Tahir Munir for supplying counterfeit credit cards to people of his network in Lahore from Bangkok.

He said Munir was arrested from a hotel on Waris Road with four fake passports. He said the accused was also wanted by the passport circle for his alleged involvement in human trafficking.

Fire: Furniture and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were destroyed when a fire broke out in a furniture-cum-lighthouse on Sundar Das Road on Sunday.

The fire erupted at the fourth floor of Khaliq’s shop due to a short-circuit. Later, fire fighters extinguished the fire.
