QUETTA, July 1: Former Balochistan Governor Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has demanded that funds provided for flood victims in Balochistan should be utilised properly.

He disclosed that the United Arab Emirates had decided to extend a relief package for the flood victims.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Sunday, he appealed to President Musharraf to hand over the relief and rescue operation to the army. He said that any delay in relief work would create further complications for the affected people.

He said that no relief and rescue operation had been launched in Kharan district where the situation was alarming.—Correspondent
