KHAIRPUR, July 1: Sindh PPP president Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that victims of rains are facing immense hardships but the government has not announced any relief package for them.
Speaking at public gatherings in Piryaloi, Kot Mir Mohammad and Garhi Mori on Saturday evening, he said that the government’s failure to prevent losses of lives, property and crops spoke volumes of its inefficiency. He added that the government had never made any planning in advance to deal with such emergencies.
About his party’s role in relief activities, Mr Shah said that the People’s Party Parliamentarians had ‘decided’ to set up relief camps throughout Sindh to help rain-affected people.
Saying that government officials were providing incorrect information about the losses, he said that the PPP was forming committees in Sindh to collect data about the losses so that facts could be brought in light.—BoC
