LAHORE, June 30: Indian officials handed over 43 Pakistani prisoners, including two women, to authorities in Pakistan on Saturday after their release from jails where they had been held for two to 15 years, an official said.
India had arrested the prisoners for crossing the border illegally or for overstaying, said border guard Tariq Janjua.
Pakistani officials greeted the prisoners on Saturday after they crossed the border at Wagha, Mr Janjua said.
He said Pakistan would free 50 Indian prisoners on Sunday, but he gave no further details.—AP
