KARACHI: KPT underpass flooded

Published July 1, 2007

KARACHI, June 30: The KPT Underpass in Clifton became submerged in knee-deep water following Saturday’s rainfall and was closed for vehicular traffic. Officials told Dawn that it would take about two hours to drain out the rainwater, as long as there is no further rainfall.

This is the first time this underpass has flooded during the current spell of rains, though during the monsoons last year, it remained closed for nearly two days as authorities struggled to remove the rainwater.
