Kidnappers kill victim’s father

By Our Correspondent

OKARA, June 29: Alleged abductors of a girl killed her father after calling him to a village on the pretext that they would hand him over his daughter. Aurangzeb abducted a girl from 283-GB of Faisalabad district. Later, his accomplices Azam and Mashkoor called girl’s father Mohsin to Otthwal Jagir village, some 30km from Okara, and shot him dead.

Chichuk police have registered a case.

PROTEST AGAINST UK: Hundreds of stamp vendors and registry deed writers staged a rally from district courts to the Okara Press Club after Friday prayers to condemn the British government for honouring Rushdie.

The protesters were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against Rushdie and Britain.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed and his brother injured when their motorcycle rammed into a trolley at Benazir Avenue on Friday.

Mubeen and Waseem hit a trolley while overtaking a car and sustained serious injuries. They were taken to hospital where Mubeen died.
