Minor girl raped, killed

SAHIWAL, June 29: A grade four student of Binnatul Islam High School was kidnapped, raped and killed. Fateh Sher police said Iqra, 8, was coming home on Thursday when Salim, 45, a tailor by profession, kidnapped her and took her to his room where he raped her. He threw the injured girl in street at night and she died before getting medical aid.

Residents of the area protested against the police and the government for failure to provided security to the masses.

Police have registered a case with no arrest.

Case: The Grain Market police have registered a case against five officials of Elite Force and traffic police on the direction of the Supreme Court for subjecting a truck driver to violence.

They thrashed driver Muhammad Hayat on April 3 and later locked him in police station lock up. After the incident, fellow drivers blocked the road.

Muhammad Yasin, resident of Chak 79/5-R, informed the Supreme Court in writing on which the court ordered an inquiry.

The case was registered against Head Constable Muhammad Ramzan, traffic Constable Muhammad Awais, Asim Munir, Muhammad Ashraf and Elite Force’s Muhammad Arshad under Police Order, 2002.

No arrest has so far been made.
