KARACHI, June 29: The legal fraternity on Friday claimed to have secured the release of 40 persons through the free legal aid committees of the Karachi Bar Association and the PML (N).

The detained persons were reportedly implicated in cases since the May 12 killings. KBA member and PML(N) Lawyers Wing president Arshad Jadoon accused the government of implicating innocent workers of different political parties and termed such tactics the worst kind of state terrorism. KBA Managing Committee member K.K. Javaid said the free legal aid committees would continue serving people.—A Reporter
