One killed in rain-related incident


LAHORE, June 28: A man was killed and four others injured in rain-related incidents in the city on Thursday. Rescue 1122 sources said the shade of a jewellery shop situated at main bazaar in Baghbanpura collapsed as a result two shoe sellers, Farid, 26, and Shabbir, 40, sustained injuries.

They were rushed to Services Hospital where Farid, father of eight children, succumbed to his injuries. In another incident, three labourers — Jehangir, 17, Altaf, 16, and Ikram, 18 — were busy digging to reconstruct a wall on Ghazi Road when it caved in.

The injured were taken to the General Hospital where Jehangir and Altaf were stated to be in a critical condition.

Allah Rakha sustained minor injuries when a portion of the dilapidated roof of his house collapsed in Misri Shah. — Staff Reporter
