KARACHI, June 28: Administrative Judge of the Accountability Court-I Syed Aley Maqbool Rizvi on Thursday reserved judgment till June 30 in a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau against Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Rasool Bux Rahoo and others in an illegal allotment of Karachi Port Trust land case.

The case was transferred to NAB from the Anti-Corruption Court. According to the reference, the accused were charged with selling KPT land measuring 75 acres along Mai Kolachi Bypass at throwaway prices, thus causing a huge loss to the national exchequer.

In a reference against Malik Muhammad Ayub of the Alliance Motors, the Accountability Court-II ordered reissuing of a summons for Nazli Rabbani.

It was alleged that Malik Ayub and Nazli fraudulently collected millions of rupees from people.

The matter was adjourned till July 12.

Kidnapping case

The administrative judge of the Anti-Terrorism Courts, Justice Qaisar Iqbal of the Sindh High Court, on Thursday sent two suspects to jail on judicial remand till July 5 for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.

Muhammad Ali and Imran Ali along with absconding co-accused Muhammad Hanif, Iqbal Baloch, Shahzad and Liaqat are charged with kidnapping Haji Abdul Ghaffar, 50, in Ameenabad, F. B Area, on May 7.

Later, they released him after receiving Rs325,000 in ransom on May 11 and demanded more money from the family. On June 14, a team of the AVCC arrested them in Nazimabad when they came to receive more ransom money.—PPI
