Harry Potter casts spell in Tokyo
TOKYO: Schoolboy wizard Harry Potter left his fans spellbound yet again on Thursday as muggles from all corners of Japan descended on Tokyo for a red-carpet premiere of his new film.Older, taller, and with a hint of stubble on his chin, the world’s most famous wizard returned to the big screen in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” which follows his fifth year at Hogwarts.
His fans, who have watched Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe mature from a baby-faced 11-year-old into a trendy teenager, were not disappointed.
“I loved it,” said Kanako Kishigami, 26, one of the lucky winners of tickets for the premiere. “I’ve been following Harry Potter from the very beginning as he has grown up and so I feel like I have grown up with him. He's become good looking,” she added.
“It was great, especially his wand which can bend,” added 10-year-old Katsuhisa Miyata. Sporting a white summer suit, matching shoes and a pale blue shirt, 17-year-old Radcliffe dazzled hundreds of fans with his boyish smile and Japanese language skills, stopping to shake hands and sign autographs.
He was joined by producer David Heyman as smoke shot out of an outdoor stage by the cinema at the swanky shopping and entertainment complex of Roppongi Hills, while twin towers of white light pierced the evening sky..—AFP
