Double for Amjad

LAHORE, June 27: Amjad Masih of Lahore won both the gold medals at stake on the first day of the 44th Punjab Cycling Championship on Wednesday. Amjad first clocked 1hr 22.09sec to win one-km time trial. Owais Aslam of Gurjanwala seized the silver medal while Rahim Yar Khan’s Arshad Hussain earned the bronze.

Amjad then paddled off to steal the show in the 1000-metre sprint, winning it in 13.94sec as Lahore’s Shakeel Amin and Owais Aslam of Gujranwala claimed silver and bronze respectively.—Sports Correspondent
