KARAK June 27: Karak District Nazim Rehmat Salam Khattak presented a Rs1.07 billion budget for the district on Wednesday. Presenting the budget at a district council meeting, the nazim said Rs862.4 million had been allocated for non-development expenditures and Rs100.7 million for developmental expenditures.
The nazim said that the district expected to receive Rs71 million from the central government for development projects out of which Rs50 million would be given to the district government and Rs21 million to union councils. He said Rs14 million had been allocated for the Citizen Community Boards. An amount of Rs6 million had been earmarked for construction of roads, while Rs18 million for repair works. A sum of Rs30.8 million had been earmarked for miscellaneous expenditures of government offices, he added.
In the education sector, Rs6.2 million had been earmarked for class consumable items and Rs1.2 million for medicines in the health sector, he said, adding that Rs150,000 would be spent on sport activities.
He said Rs21.2 million had been allocated for developmental projects in which Rs14.5 million had been earmarked for new projects and the remaining amount would be spent on ongoing projects with an allocation of Rs5.8 million for medium-size development projects.
