Rs50m for rain-hit Karachiites


LAHORE, June 26: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi had called Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives due to recent heavy rains.

According to a handout, he offered cooperation of the people of Punjab to the affected people and announced Rs50 million for the purpose.

He said relief camps would be set up in the affected areas of Karachi on behalf of Punjab.

The chief minister said Punjab would play an active role for the rehabilitation of the affected people.
