KARACHI, June 26: Eight ships carrying raw jute and to load naphtha and clinkers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Oel Esteem to unload and load containers, Beluga Eternity to offload project cargo, Winco Uno to unload cars and Pream Pride to offload oil were accommodated berths.

Four ships, Conti Esperance, Aqyama, Winco Uno and Makran departed on Tuesday, while Lalazar, Wan Hai-301, Beluga Eternity and Bunga Kenari are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was slow owing to rain and as a result, the total tonnage handled fell to 58,961 tons comprising 10,780 tons of export cargo including 3,443 tons of cement and 48,181 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Peterpaul to load 10,000 tons of mogas and 15,000 tons of naphtha, Sinar Bandung, Y.M. Sun, Hyundai Fture with containers, Cruiser with 26,000 tons of DAP fertiliser, Ocean Frontier to load 21,000 tons of clinkers and Bunga May to offload 9,580 tons of raw jute.
