Man killed in kidnapping bid

BANNU, June 25: A man was killed by his colleagues and a watchman was injured when an attempt to kidnap a school principal was foiled here on Sunday night. Police said five armed men broke into the building of a private school in the Sikanderkhel Bala area. The school watchman caught an intruder, but his accomplices opened fire in an effort to get him freed. As a result, watchman Ihsanullah and the miscreant received bullet injuries. The armed men’s accomplice, whose identity could not be ascertained, died on the spot.—Correspondent
