DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 25: Six members of a family were found slaughtered in Mehboobabad Colony on Monday morning under mysterious circumstances in DG Khan city police precincts.

The slain have been identified as labourer Raheem Bakhsh, his wife Nadia Bibi, three sons Dilshad, 8, Noman, 5, Tahir, 2, and daughter Fazeela, 7.

Reports said Raheem’s neighbours saw blood spots in the street on Monday morning and informed the police which found Raheem Bakhsh, Nadia and Tahir lying murdered in the courtyard and the rest three in a room. The bodies were shifted for autopsy.

Later, the police arrested a person on suspicion. A number of policemen had been deployed at the house and no one, including heirs of the slain and newsmen, were allowed to enter.

District Police Officer Muhammad Inkisar Khan said two teams had been formed to probe the incident.

Raheem Bakhsh was labourer at the fruit market and had married his cousin Sughra 12 years ago. He had two sons namely Allah Bakhsh, Dilshad, and daughter Chandni. Raheem had good relations with Sughra but he married Nadia of Layyah some 10 years back. Some of his family members said they had no enmity.

APP ADDS: The family had shifted to DG Khan from Layyah because of some land dispute and settled here about a year ago.

Police said old enmity seemed to be the motive behind the killings.
