KARACHI: Withdrawal of ‘unauthorised’ police guards ordered

KARACHI, June 25: Sindh IGP Ziaul Hassan Khan has ordered withdrawal of ‘unauthorised’ police guards before July 1. Presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office on Monday, he said the additional guards on escort duty of police officials would be withdrawn in the first phase.

He also sought a report from senior police officials about the police personnel assigned to high-ups to escort them.

“The unauthorised guards, wherever assigned, be withdrawn before July 1 and a report in this context be presented,” he said.

Mr Khan said at least 20 platoons should be available at the police headquarters of Karachi and 100 platoons with Sindh Reserve Police.—PPI
