LAHORE, June 24: Faisalabad with 810 points won the second Chief Minister Punjab Inter-Board games, which concluded on Saturday night.

Hosts, Lahore accumulated 510 points to claim second place, followed by Multan, who grabbed 380 points to seize third spot.

Gujranwala, scored 340 points to remain fourth while Rawalpindi (260), Bahawalpur (202), Dera Ghazi Khan (80) and Sargodha (60) were placed in 5th to 8th position.

Azhar Mahmood of Faisalabad was declared the best boy athlete while Saima Saher of Bahawalpur the best girl athlete.

Faisalabad , excelled in athletics, badminton, basketball, table tennis and kabaddi.

Both girls and boys athletes contributed 100 points, each.

Faisalabad also earned 100 points each from badminton (girls), basketball (boys), table tennis (girls) and kabaddi.

The boys also earned 60 points from hockey by claiming second position while 20 from football after taking third spot.

The girls also contributed 60 points after taking second position in basketball and 20 points from volleyball.

Lahore claimed gold medal in hockey (boys), table tennis (boys) and volleyball (boys).

In all, 1687 athletes took part in seven different games held for boys and girls in the three day event.
