ISLAMABAD, June 24: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Sunday asked all political parties to check electoral rolls displayed at 45,000 display centres across the country and inform the commission regarding any concerns they might be having.
According to the spokesman for the commission, letters have already been sent to the leaders of political parties in which they have been asked to convince their workers to check their names on these lists.
He said the commission will ensure the inclusion of every citizen's name in the list who had a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
He said a large number of display centres had been set up throughout the country to accommodate eligible voters whose names were missing in the draft lists.
He said the final lists will be published in the first week of September and the missing voters will have the facility to enrol themselves till the announcement of the election schedule.
He said all provincial and district officers of the Election
Commission have been directed to help the people in removing their concerns.
He said if any voter’s name was missing than he/she could submit a form with the Election Commission to include the name in the list, and added that the form was available at all display centres and the Election Commission's provincial and district offices.—APP
