MULTAN, June 24: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary will visit Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan on the invitation of respective bars.

The CJ himself made the announcement in his speech on Sunday and promised to give the schedule in a few days. He appreciated the gesture of those lawyers who had come on foot from Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur and mentioned their names. The high court bar had invited representatives of 109 district and tehsil bar associations across Punjab to its convention.

Quoting CJ’s lawyers, BBC said Justice Chaudhry would visit Lahore on July 14 on the invitation Lahore District Bar. This time he would reach the Punjab capital by air.

Earlier, lawyers received his caravan at Pul Rango from where it reached Chowk Kumahaaranwala at 4pm where thousands of opposition workers, social activists, traders and people from different walks were present.

Political and religious parties, including PML-N, PPP, Pakistan Seraiki Party, Jamat-i-Islami and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf had set up camps throughout the route up to the bar premises.
