KARACHI, June 24: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has directed all party workers, office-bearers and elected representatives to make all-out efforts to provide relief to the people affected by the rain and dust storm in the city.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he expressed grief over the death of dozens of people in the natural disaster and asked his party men to help citizens in their respective localities.

Meanwhile, the MQM coordination committee in its meeting decided to launch effective and coordinated rescue work in all affected areas in Sindh, particularly in Karachi. A monitoring team was also formed to ensure coordinated rescue work.

The MQM has established seven medial camps in Qasba, Aligarh Colony, Surjani Town, Bhitaiabad, Taiser Town, Gadap and on Super Highway for providing relief to affected people. Shoaib Bukhari, a provincial minister, visited the Patel Hospital and inquired after the health of the injured people being treated there.
