KARACHI: Programmes cancelled

KARACHI, June 23: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi cancelled the programmes scheduled for Saturday and Sunday due to heavy rains as forecast by the meteorological office.

According to a spokesman for the Arts Council, the screening of movies, Aag ka Darya and Insaan aur Aadmi, as part of weeklong Mohammad Ali Festival and the concluding ceremony of the festival scheduled for Sunday had been cancelled due to heavy rains.

Late Ali’s wife Zeba, a popular movie star of the yore, was expected to attend the Sunday’s concluding function.

Besides, the spokesman said, the weekly cultural corner, Koocha-i-Saqafat, had also been cancelled.
