KARACHI, June 23: Eight ships carrying containers, steel and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Seven others including three to load 50,000 tons of cement and clinkers are also due on Monday.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where three ships, Iran Tabatabaei, Mol Asante and Eric G. Gibson were berthed to unload and load containers after the departure of five vessels.

The departing ships included Eric G. Gibson, Y.M Energy, Hyundai Advance, Bright Ocean-2 and Al-Jaber-18, while Hartati, Corin Thaikos, Iran Tabatabaei, Mol Asanti, Asian Queen, Datain, CMA CGM Gardenia, Golina, Viscoya and Makran are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.129m tons comprising 38,087 tons of export cargo and 91,183 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Prem Pride to load 25,000 tons of naphtha, Lalazar and Rose, with crude oil, Conti Esperance, Jilta Bhum and Bunga Kenari with containers, Aoyama with steel and Beluga Eternity, with project cargo.

The following vessels are due on Monday: Oel Esteem, Wan Hai-301, Iran Hesabi with containers, Spirit with coal, Lucky Arrow, Sea Princess to load 11,000 and 8,500 tons of cement and Ocean Frontier to load 21,000 tons of clinker.
