LAHORE, June 22: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has said the government has adopted strict security measures during Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry’s visit to Lahore and onward travelling to Multan.

Talking to reporters after the Punjab Assembly session on Friday, the chief minister said a heavy contingent of police as well as officials of some agencies had been assigned duties to make foolproof security measures.

He said it was a matter of grave concern that various political parties were doing politics on the CJP issue.

Answering a question, he said, Benazir Bhutto had so far not contradicted her statement with regard to Salman Rushdie.
