TOBA TEK SINGH, June 22: The Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) has failed to replace hundreds of meters burnt in recent rains.

A number of consumers said Fesco city subdivision assistant manger (operation) and line superintendent were not present in their offices to sign their application for replacement of meters.

They said they have been braving hot and humid weather without electricity and water for the last five days.

When contacted, a Fesco official claimed that higher authorities had given target of recovery of arrears from defaulters as the financial year has come to a close so most of the staff was busy in recovery.
