30-year-old feud ends

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, June 22: A 30-year-old enmity between the Marri and Luni tribes of Balochistan has come to an end and the two sides have decided to pay compensation for 58 people who have lost their lives during the three-decade-long bloody dispute.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, the tribes’ elders, Sardar Masood Ahmed Luni, Sardar Hafiz Luni, Senator Mir Mohabat Khan Marri and Mir Bahar Khan Marri, announced that they would soon visit each other’s areas.

They said a platform would be formed for resolving old issues and averting any untoward situation in future.

They thanked the government and the Pakistan Army for playing roles in resolving the conflicts.
