Congregation attacker dies

BANNU, June 22: A man, who lobbed a grenade during a religious congregation on Thursday and was wounded in the attack, died here on Friday morning.

One person was killed and 21 others were injured in the attack.

The attacker was identified as Shakir Mohammad, a resident of Momandkhel, and was wanted by police in cases of highway robberies and other offences.

Witnesses said the attacker hurled the grenade when he was stopped at the entrance of a Tablighee centre near the Bannu airport for checks. People arrested the attacker.
