KARACHI, June 22: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) held a rally at Binnori Town here on Friday to condemn the British government for conferring a knighthood on Salman Rushdie, the author of the 1988 novel “The Satanic Verses”, criticised in the Muslim world for being blasphemous.
Prof Ghafoor Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Senator Gul Naseeb Khan, Siddique Rathore, Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, Nasrullah Shaji, Yunus Barai and several other MMA leaders spoke at the rally.—PPI
