HYDERABAD, June 22: Anjuman Tajiran-i-Hyderabad has threatened to resort to protest if the bandits, involved in looting the business community, were not arrested, their stolen properties not recovered and they were not provided protection against the criminals.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Friday, they said that during the last few weeks, incidents of robberies had increased in Shahi Bazar, Chotki Ghitti and other adjoining areas and only in one shop of Chotki Ghitti, garments worth Rs3.5 million were looted on May 31.

The leader of organisation, Saleem Vohra, said that seven accused were involved in this robbery which had created a sense of insecurity among the business community of the whole city.

They said that due to the efforts of new DPO, Imran Shoukat, police were reported to have arrested some accused but have failed to recover the looted money.

Saleem Vohra said that the business community was informed that the arrested accused were involved in more than 20 dacoities in Shahi Bazar and other areas but the looted properties were not recovered even in one single case.
